Athletic Development Essentials from Ringette Canada
Submitted By Tom Anderson on Friday, April 14, 2017
Have you ever wondered if you, your child, your players or your athletes are developing the required skills to play at their desired level, or on the road to becoming a high-performance athlete?

In an effort to assist in this area, Ringette Canada has developed the Essentials. The document; geared towards athletes, parents, coaches and local associations, provides a snapshot of the key building blocks for the developing player and high-performance athlete. It’s the skills that Ringette Canada has identified to be necessary for its members to cultivate through all stages of development.

The Essentials were developed using Sport for Life’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework and generic Athlete Development Matrix (ADM), as well as expertise from Canada’s ringette community. The skills contained in the Essentials are taken from a larger more comprehensive document called the Athlete Development Matrix (ADM), which Ringette Canada is completing in the coming months.

To access the Essentials, go to the athlete tab on our Long-Term Ringette Development website (www.ltrd.ringette.ca) and click on the Athlete Development Matrix tab. In this section, you can download the entire document or also find links to download the appropriate stage you are looking for.

If you have questions on the Essentials, please contact Nathalie Müller at [email protected]
