For the 2021/22 Season, APRA is hosting the following A and A-Level teams: U12A, U14A, U16A, U16AA and U19A.

Tryout dates and times are listed at the bottom of this page.  


BEFORE YOU ATTEND TRYOUTS:

  •  Advance Registration Required (48 hours prior to the 1st tryout) - CLICK HERE
    • ALL patrons (participant, coach, parent/guardian) are to register in advance to attend tryouts or you will not be permitted to enter an arena.
    • Registration will close 48 hours prior to the 1st tryout date for each age /level. 
    • The COVID Safety Leader on site will refer to this list and assist arena staff with managing entry / capacity limits based on registration lists. 
    • To be eligible to participate, all tryout attendees must have registered with their home association for the 2021/22 Season. 

     

  • Advance Payment Required (48 hours prior to the 1st tryout): 
    • APRA home association players: There is no additional cost for APRA players to attend home association tryouts (included in the 2021/22 season registration fees). 
    • For all other players: The cost to attend APRA tryouts is $30 (all sessions), to be paid in advance via e-transfer to [email protected]. Players who are offered a position on an APRA team and accept, will be issued a refund of their tryout fees (i.e. included in season registration fees).
    • All tryout payments are to be sent via e-transfer to [email protected] 
    • When sending your e-transfer payment, indicate the player’s name and the age/level of the tryout they are attending.
    • All registrants will be invited to attend the first 2 tryouts; Final tryouts will be by invitation only.
    • Players will not be permitted to participate unless tryout fees have been paid in 48 hours in advance.

  • COVID-19 Pre-Screening / Health Attestations Required - NEW
    •  ALL patrons (participant, coach, parent/guardian) must follow Ajax’ new process / COVID-19 Screening Survey found at www.ajax.ca/CovidScreen and submit their Health Attestations with the Town, PRIOR to attending any events.
    • Complete the survey 1 hour prior to arena entry, and using a mobile phone
    • Individuals that PASS the pre-screening will receive a time-stamped confirmation message on page 3 of the survey, indicating “You have passed the screening survey”, along with the image of a large green checkmark.
    • Prior to exiting the survey, take a screenshot of this page, which will need to presented at the arena in order to gain entry to the facility. Make sure the time-stamp is visible in your screenshot.
    • APRA will not use TeamSnap or any other form to complete health attestations.

  • Review and Adhere to the Updated Ajax Arena Safety Protocols - For more information - CLICK HERE
    • For all events, capacity limits at arenas have been revised - 1 spectator per player will be permitted entry
    • Players will be permitted to use dressing rooms in both Ajax and Pickering facilities
    • Additional reminders - bring a filled water bottle (or 2), enter and exit only through designated areas, all spectators fully masked, etc.

     

    NOTE: Information regarding protocols at Pickering arenas will be added to this section when they become available. It is expected that they will mirror the Ajax protocols. 

 
  • Permission to Skate: 
    • Players from other associations interested in attending APRA tryouts must register for the 2021/22 Season with their home association
    • As per Ringette Ontario, a Permission to Skate Form is no longer required.

NOTE: MANDATORY PARENT/GUARDIAN ZOOM MEETINGS DURING TRYOUTS (ALL REGISTRANTS):

 

Understanding the requirements of each program will allow you to make an informed decision if offered a position on an APRA A or AA level team. Prior to Tryout # 2, at least one parent/guardian of all tryout registrants is required attend a meeting with the team's head coach. At that time, information about the program will be shared (season plan, expectations, commitments, budget, etc.) and parents/guardians will have the opportunity to ask any questions. An email with ZOOM call-in details will be sent to all registered attendees prior to the start of each division's tryouts.
