COVID Safety Resources

APRA COVID Safety Officer Tammy Henderson  (905-409-4690)

The Ajax Pickering Ringette COVID Safety Officer is our key point of contact for our association between our local municipalities, Durham Public Health and Ringette Ontario. Internally, APRA's CSO regularly communicates with APRA coaches, bench staff, players and parents, to ensure everyone is aware of current expectations both within local facilities and as directed by Ringette Ontario. Check here often, this information will continue to be updated.

RINGETTE ONTARIO VACCINATION POLICY - April 15. 2022 UPDATE

Ringette Ontario strongly recommends that everyone eligible to be vaccinated is fully vaccinated prior to participation in any Ringette Ontario sanctioned activities. This is in line with the recommendations from the Ontario Ministry of Health that everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated, receives the approved number of doses to be considered fully vaccinated.

After careful consideration, and in consultation with various partner sport organizations and provincial regulations, effective April 18th at 12:01AM, the Board has elected to suspend the mandatory vaccination policy at this time and therefore, vaccinations are not mandatory in order to participate in spring tryouts and other sanctioned ringette activities in preparation for the 2022/23 season. Please note that any participant who is not fully vaccinated and chooses to register with Ringette Ontario must understand that, if mandatory vaccinations return by either Government or Ringette Ontario decision, they will be no longer eligible to participate. Associations who choose to form a team with participants who are not fully vaccinated, do so at their own risk.

Should circumstances regarding COVID-19 evolve and dictate a change in our policy, Ringette Ontario will revisit this policy accordingly.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS

In keeping with the latest direction from the Provincial Government, effective March 21, 2022, patrons are no longer required to wear masks at all City of Pickering and Town of Ajax facilities.

However, Ajax Pickering Ringette and Ringette Ontario strongly recommends that athletes, coaches, parents, and volunteers continue to practice caution when attending ringette functions and continue to wear a mask in team settings.

We also also ask that everyone respect and support the individual choices of other patrons and staff while participating in ringette activities. However, we would ask our members to continue to remain

Most other restrictions and safety protocols have been removed by the Provincial and Municipal Governments; however, we ask that our members continue to follow established COVID safety and common sense protocols:

  • DO NOT come to the arena if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms. If you are unsure whether to attend, please contact the APRA COVID SAFETY OFFICER to clarify.
  • In relation to travel to other associations, APRA members will be responsible for following the specific guidelines established in each municipality.
  • It is better to travel to and from ringette events with members of your household only; however, if you do have to carpool, please wear a mask while in the vehicle.
  • Follow the COVID Safety Basics - Continue to exercise diligence and safety at all APRA events (proper hand hygiene; maintain social distancing among members of different households; no congregating in large groups). Be sure to follow these safety guidelines in the arena parking lots, as you line up for entry, and once inside the facilities

Ajax Pickering Ringette is committed to providing a safe, rewarding and competitive experience for all players. Thank for your partnership in helping to keep our players on the ice.

Thank you for your cooperation.
