Team Staff - Policies, Qualifications, Compliance


All APRA Teams and Bench Staff will abide by the following APRA and Ringette Ontario team, volunteer, and coaching-related policies.

 

Team Bench Staff will be fully qualified in their roles by November 30th of the current playing season to be an eligible member of the roster. The only exception is for the Competition Introduction Evaluation required of AA coaches (U14AA- head coach only; U16 and U19AA - all coaches), for which the deadline is January 31st.

Qualifications

Ringette Ontario Team Staff Qualification Policy

Requirements for teams including Bench Staff composition and training deadlines.

Standard First Aid or Equivalent / Trainers

ALL teams must have a bench staff member who has Standard First Aid or equivalent qualification. All U10-U19 must have a registered Trainer who fulfills this requirement.

On-Ice Assistant - Requirements

Qualifications required for On-Ice Assistants over the age of 18. Note: On-Ice Assistants may not occupy a position on the bench or on the Team Roster Form.

Per age and level, required training for Coaches, Trainers, Managers, On-Ice Assistants and Junior Coaches.

NCCP coaching certification expires after 5 years. Learn how to renew and maintain your status by earning Professional Development (PD) points.

Leading a Return to Sport Participation

Mental Health in Sport

These free eLearning modules have been created by the Coaching Association of Canada to support athletes adapting to long lay-offs in programming due to COVID. Each take approximately 45 - 60 minutes to complete and are available in the Locker. Coaches who are maintaining their NCCP Certification will earn one NCCP PD point upon completion of each module.
