Kevin's Celebration of Life

We extend an invitation to friends and family to join us in remembering Kevin’s life. Per his wishes, his family is holding a celebration of life ceremony instead of a traditional funeral. We invite you to join Carol, Candice, Meagan, Jacilyn, and their spouses, where we’ll share stories, tears, and raise a glass to a great man. Light refreshments will be served.

We’ll be sharing our favourite stories about Kevin in an effort to lift everyone's spirits. If you know ahead of time that you would like to share your own, please text/call Carol at: 905-391-8691.

It is with very heavy hearts that we share with the Ringette community the passing of Kevin Sweeney. We received the news from his family today that his passing was sudden and due to medical complications. Kevin Sweeney has been a long standing and dedicated member to our association for over 25 years. He wore many hats - Asst. Coach, Coach, League Coordinator, Fair Play Project, Ajax Assoc. Board Member, Central Region Board Member, Ajax/Pickering Assoc. Board Member, Tournament Committees, Ringette Ontario Member. He has been instrumental in managing the Open League, ensuring that the young girls who fell in love with the sport had a place to play as adults. His work with Tournaments would help to make Ajax one of the most popular events and a huge fundraiser for our association. The most popular comments being shared are about his enthusiasm, passion, heart for Ringette and the huge loss to the Ringette Community. Team Sweeney has lost a valuable member and friend, the players were all his extended family. Kevin always went above and beyond for the sport.

As much as the Ringette Community will miss him, it is his family that need our deepest sympathies. His wife of 40 years, Carol. His 3 daughters, all Ringette players, Jaci, Candice & Meagan and the joy of his life, his four year old granddaughter.

Thank you Kevin!! You will be deeply missed and remembered by so many.
